LRI is a Proud Partner and Sponsor of Camp Molly
In 2024, LRI proudly joined Camp Molly as a recognized partner and sponsor, supporting a vital initiative to empower young women and foster diversity in the fire and life safety industry.
Camp Molly provides an unparalleled opportunity for young women to engage with inspiring female role models in their communities and explore every facet of the fire service, and the fire and life safety industry. This transformative experience offers participants a firsthand look at Fire and Life Safety, guided by accomplished leaders in the Fire Protection and Life Safety sectors. The overwhelming support for Camp Molly stems from the dedication of hundreds of fire service professionals who generously volunteer their time, alongside donors who make the camp and its activities possible.
Inspired by Molly Williams, the trailblazing first female firefighter of New York over 200 years ago, Camp Molly carries forward her legacy by opening doors for women in a traditionally male-dominated field. With women making up only 5.5% of the fire service, initiatives like this are crucial for cultivating a more inclusive and robust workforce.
Designed to spark interest in Fire and Life Safety careers, Camp Molly empowers young women to break barriers, build confidence, and consider a future in a field that values their skills and perspectives. Participants gain not only technical insights but also the inspiration to envision themselves as leaders within the industry.
“Camp Molly is a great example of what can be done if you empower young people to be their best.” A quote from Judi Myddelton who has been involved in the program as a lead instructor and mentor since 2019 when the program was launched in the Halton Region. Today Judi remains an active member as the Camp has now expanded across Canada.
At LRI, we believe in championing opportunities that elevate underrepresented voices and strengthen the industries we serve. We are thrilled to provide our continued support of Camp Molly in 2025 and look forward to witnessing the next generation of trailblazing women redefine the future of Fire and Life Safety.
