Paul Barritt, BCIN
Paul began his career with LRI in 2026. He spent 38 years in municipal fire service focused on both fire and building code inspections, review, and enforcement. Has participated in public education initiatives as well as mentoring and training staff. Paul held a senior role as Chief Fire Prevention Officer, graduated from Mohawk College and further, became a member of Oacett. Paul also has NFPA certification in Fire Prevention Inspections, Fire Investigations, Public Education and Trainer Facilitator. Paul was able to participate on two of the provinces Technical Advisory Committees overseeing proposed changes to the Ontario Building Code. Paul also holds a valid license as a millwright with experience in various industries giving insight on risks relating to special processes and protection.

Paul has extensive experience as both a qualified fire and life safety professional and building code inspector. He has completed hundreds of retrofit inspections and participated in the commissioning of fire and life safety systems in new construction. He has experience in conducting building audits, fire safety plan reviews and building permit reviews related to fire and life safety systems. Paul’s experience in the municipal fire service lends itself to finding resolutions to most fire and life safety matters encountered by property owners.
