LRI provided peer review assistance and audit services to the Ottawa International Airport Authority.
LRI’s engagement with the Ottawa International Airport Authority (OIAA) involved peer review assistance, related to the construction of the AeroMAG De-Icing Building and a Maintenance Building, as well as audits of existing buildings on airport lands.
Both the De-Icing Building and Maintenance Building are critical to the operation of YOW. LRI’s role was to review, on behalf of OIAA, design drawings and documentation against the requirements of the National Building Code of Canada (NBCC). In addition, LRI was involved in witnessing commissioning testing of the fire alarm system and sprinkler systems, to ensure that they functioned as designed.
LRI also conducted audits of existing service and support buildings on airport lands against principal fire protection and life safety requirements of the NBCC and National Fire Code of Canada. The audits were conducted to ensure that the use of the existing buildings remained consistent with the classification of the buildings, as originally designed.
