LRI Engineering’s 39th Anniversary

Monday, January 13th marks LRI Engineering’s 39th Anniversary! For nearly 4 decades LRI has been dedicated to Fire and Life Safety. Some say you need to always look forward, but on this day we want to take a look back and take a moment to appreciate all of the people who helped make LRI what it is today. Founded in 1986, LRI Engineering (LRI) is Canada’s leading engineering group specializing in fire protection engineering, building and fire code consulting, and emergency planning.  With offices in Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal (Laval), and Calgary, LRI provides nationwide support, ensuring that clients meet safety standards and achieve compliance with both Building and Fire Codes.

In 2017, LRI was acquired by CEP Forensic Inc. (CEP), a leader in forensic engineering. This acquisition marked the beginning of a successful partnership, culminating in a full merger in 2022. Despite the integration, both brands maintain independent identities to preserve their leadership within their respective markets. Together, LRI and CEP offer enhanced, complementary services, strengthening their ability to meet evolving industry demands.

This strategic merger supports LRI’s focus on growth through organic development, acquisitions, and partnerships.
