LRI is a fire protection engineering and building and fire code consulting company that was founded in 1986. Headquartered in downtown Toronto, with branch locations in Ottawa, Montréal, and Calgary. LRI has a solid reputation in the fire protection engineering and building and fire code consulting industry in Canada, having completed over 40,000 projects over the years. We work in close collaboration with many of the country’s largest property owners, operators, prestigious builders, and architectural firms. In 2022, LRI joined forces with CEP to offer unique niche services and complimentary engineering services across Canada, thereby becoming a leader in risk management and engineering services.

The LRI team has extensive experience in building and fire codes for all types of occupancy. Our experts have backgrounds in fire protection and building code consulting, fire safety plans, municipal plan examination and inspection, property management, construction/development, research and development and fire protection equipment design, retrofit, manufacturing and testing. We have contributed to the development of CAN/ULC, CSA, NFPA, ISO standards, and NEMA/NAFTA harmonization efforts. Our team’s active participation and leadership in key fire protection associations, like CFSA, CFAA, AFAA, SFPE, NFPA, and CSA, highlight our commitment to the field.
